About Us

Premier Transportation Services, Yellow Cab and Checker Cab are located at the south end of downtown Memphis where we work to be your preferred passenger ground transportation provider.   Our goal is to efficiently transport our passengers in a safe, polite and timely manner at a fair price. 

Our history goes back over 150 years, beginning with Patterson Transfer & Storage, which began business in 1856, shuttling passengers and their baggage between the main train stations in Memphis. Out of this company grew Yellow Cab Company of Memphis.

In 1989, we formed a separate corporation, Checker Cab Company of Memphis. These two firms provide taxi services throughout the Memphis metropolitan area.  Premier Transportation was formed to complement our taxi services by providing scheduled non-taxicab services such as car and driver services, bus transportation, group shuttles and more.
